Cyber Careers Interview with Sunaina Aytan, Senior Cyber Security Analyst at an Insurance Firm. We discussed her career journey, tips for getting into Cyber Security and what it is like working in the finance industry.
About Speaker:
Winner of TechWomen100 2019, Sunaina has been an advocate for Women in Cyber since joining the Industry. Being the first generation to attend university and the only member pursuing a career in technology, growing up she did not have many relatable role models around her. To then going into a workplace where she was the only female in her Cyber Security Team, influenced her work in the importance of having a diverse and inclusive workplace and how essential it is for not only personal growth but business growth too. This has led her to her current role as a Senior Cyber Security Analyst at Brit Insurance, where she continues to aspire and lead in her daily role whilst working as an ambassador for the non-profit organisation STEMettes, where she actively helps to mentor the future female generation by taking part in panel sessions, webinars, solo talks and offering general advice and guidance. She has also worked with tech initiatives such as CogX, delivering technical talks and sessions based on security practices.
